Do You have a smile to share?

We are always looking for people with a welcoming smile to be on our Welcome Team!

The Greeter will welcome everyone to church--guests and existing members, young and old.  It is always nice to be greeted with a warm "Hello" when you arrive anywhere.  This is actually getting to be somewhat of a rarity nowadays, due to cell phones, Covid, etc.

Don't underestimate a wonderful smile (we're lucky to see them without a mask these days).  If you have dimples--great--but they're not needed.  Remember that every smile and greeting a person receives is a blessing.  It is also a blessing to be a friendly Greeter.

HOW DO I BE A GREETER?

1.  Sign up on the Greeters list (on the bulletin board in the Welcome Area--northwest entry) for the date desired.

2.  On the day that you've selected to be a Greeter, put on the "Greeter" pin that is located on the bulletin board (please remember to return the pin after the service).

3.  Greet people at the entrances to the church, in the hallways . . . and even in the parking lot, if you want!  Maybe an elderly person would appreciate the offer of a strong arm to lean on.  You can Introduce yourself and ask them their name, if they seem to want to chat.  You don't have to, though.  Some shy people might want to stay anonymous for a while, while they're checking out a new church.  JUST GIVING A FRIENDLY "HELLO" WORKS WONDERFULLY!

4.  Show them the coat rack (if they have a coat) and guide them to the Sanctuary.

5.  If we have a Hospitality Cart in the Welcome Area that day (coffee, doughnuts, cookies, etc.), welcome them to have some coffee or treats.

6.  If they are guests, encourage them to sign the guest book and make sure they get a program.

7.  After the service, make sure to say something like, "We hope to see you next week" --or-- "It was really nice to meet you!"

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.  (Galatians 5:22-23)
